O2 has today extended its O2 Refresh price plan tariff to include tablets, adding to the networks current smartphone offering, allowing customers to pick up a tablet device on a monthly contract with a SIM plan as a separate payment.

The new plan will allow customers to choose from a wide range of tablets, including the Sony Xperia Z2 tablet, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, Galaxy Tab 3.8.0, Nexus 7 and the Asus Fonepad, each available with separate data plans that provides a monthly capacity limit from 500MB to 8GB.

This price will be spread over the course of a 24-month contract, without an up-front fee, however O2 Refresh does also offer something different, allowing users to upgrade their smartphone, or now their tablet without having to pay off the contract, just the cost of the device itself.

As an example O2 say that a Sony Xperia Z2 tablet that would normally cost £529.99 by itself, would be available on O2 Refresh with a 3GB per month plan that costs £36 a month, £21 a month for the device and £15 a month for the data, meaning that the tablet works out £25.99 less than the original price if worked out over the corse of 24 months.

Then it you want to upgrade your tablet after a year, the customer would only have to pay off the remaining £252, and traditional networks would normally demand the data to be paid off too, meaning that you get around £180 worth of savings.
