O2 has today announced the launch of a new series of price plans for 4G, making their services cheaper for those on a budget.

Plans will now start at  £17 a month for a 24-month Refresh Airtime time, or £21 a month for the Simplicity SIM-only plan, both of which will now offer 1GB of data, unlimited texts and unlimited calls, however a fee for the phone would also have to be added to that monthly sum, with handset prices ranging from £5 to £15 a month.

O2 also launched a £22 plan that includes 5GB of data alongside a £27 a month plan with 8GB of data, both with unlimited calls and texts.

Existing customers will be able to access the plans at no extra costs, with current 4GB customers getting a boost to their monthly data allowance, and 3G customers able to upgrade at any time for no extra fee.
