Obsidian later last night changed their front page to what seemed to be a countdown, which shown the number four surrounded by an Ouroboros, which is an ancient symbol showing a Snake eating its own tail, alongside the image there was also text below reading: “What do the words mean? Nothing. The Dirge of Eír Glanfath is sound without form, a lone voice crying out in mourning because it must.”
But that’s not all, as if you click the image if will take you to a forum named, Project X Speculation & Discussion which has been placed to allow fans to discuss what they think the tease could mean, the forum also has a description stating: “This is a forum for Obsidian’s next RPG endeavor. So secret not even its project codename is yet being revealed. Speculate here…”
There was not much news on this until Obsidian teased a second image earlier today, which now shows the letter three, still with the same Ouroboros surrounding, but with new text below which reads:
“The book unread is unwritten. The reason we don’t explain it is the reason we use it. Its power is in its mystery, in part, in whole. Is it clear?”
“Digging for truth buries the seeker.”
Looking into the source code also reveals a little more text you cannot see:
“Two centuries ago, your divine champion told the people of Dyrwood to grovel at his feet. If you’ve come on pilgrimage to the blasted crater that was our reply, Godhammer Citadel is *that* way.”
As of yet were not sure what this could mean, but it’s likely to be a tease for some sort of game update or new RPG game release, but the only games which could be updated in the Obsidian line-up include Dungeon Siege, Fallout, The Old Republic and Wasteland, all of which could get new updates.
But until the countdown ends, we simply won’t know, we will however update this post as we find out more.
