After finally becoming available for pre-order earlier this month, the Oculus Rift virtual reality handset has been pushed back for new pre-order deliveries until July 2016.

Originally an early pre-order will net you an expected delivery date of March 28th, 2016. They began pushing this date back after the first day and now

They began pushing this date back after the first day and now from today onwards, that shipping date will be moved to July 2016 if you pre-order from today.

Oculus also announced that any Kickstarter backers from the original campaign that pledged enough for the first development kit will receive a full consumer version, we don’t yet know the expected delivery dates on those.

When it is delivered, customers will get the VR headset bundle, with an included Xbox controller and motion camera.

What is interesting, is how quickly these delivery dates have been repeatedly pushed back, it would be interesting to know the numbers of these pre-orders.
