Yesterday Facebook-owned Oculus unveiled a new audio product for the virtual reality headset, the Oculus Rift.

This announcement was made during their Oculus Connect event yesterday, where they unveiled the new Oculus Earphones product to bring a different audio option to users of the Rift.

Oculus says that the Oculus Earphones are “next-level audio integration” for the Rift, providing “new sound solution to satisfy even the most serious audiophiles”.

They are in -ear headphones that can be used with the Rift VR headset, and can be replaced with the currently included on-ear headphones that come with the Rift at the moment.

They will be sold separately though, so as far as we know, you won’t be able to select them as an option when picking up a new Rift.

You will be able to pre-order the Oculus Earphones from October 10th on Oculus’ website, and they will officially launch on December 6th in the US.

At the moment, we haven’t heard any pricing or availability details for regions outside of the US.
