Samsung has today officially announced the smaller version of its flagship smartphone, dubbed the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini, it features much of the same as the S5, but with a few lower end specs and a smaller form factor.
In terms of specs it features a 4.5 inch 720 x 1280 Super AMOLED display, a quad-core 1.4GHz processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and a microSD card slot that can take an extra 64GB of storage.
There’s also a 2,100 mAh battery, with a 9.1mm thin design, a 2.1 megapixel front-facing camera and an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus and LED flash.
Finally the mini also has connectivity for 4G LTE, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 and GLONASS GPS.
On top of that there’s also an IR Remote Blaster and a fingerprint sensor home button. On the back you will also find the same heart rate sensor as the S5, with a body that is both water and dust resistant, and an Ultra Power Saving Mode inside.
As of yet UK pricing and availability has yet to be announced, we do however know that it will be available in black, white, blue and gold variants.
