So the rumors have once again be proven to be true, and Samsung has just announced the release of the long rumored, Galaxy S4 Zoom, a phone/ camera hybrid, it features a 16 megapixel CMOS sensor, with 10x optical zoom and runs on the latest version of Android 4.2.
Alongside which, Samsung have also added in more or less the same features as the normal Galaxy S4, but with a few tweaks such as “zoom ring”, which is basically a ring on the back of the phone, that can be twisted to instantly share images.
Within the camera side of things, there’s also some pretty impressive specs including, optical image stabilization technology and even a Xenon Flash, and is enhanced by a new feature called photo suggest, allowing the user to view what is basically an online library of images taken by other people around the world.
This is also boosted by other camera software features, including Action Freeze, Drama Shot and Face Detection modes.
On top of the Android based operating system, the Galaxy S4 Zoom runs TouchWiz as an overlay, with specs that include a 1.5GHz dual core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB of in-built storage, a microSD card slot, 2,330mAh battery and finally a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED display, that features a 960 x 540 pixel resolution.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom will launch in the UK this summer, however exact release dates and pricing are yet to be announced.
