The rumors have finally come true, Sony has today announced the launch of the Sony Xperia Z Ultra during an event in Shanghai and London.
Featuring much the same slim design as the original Xperia Z, the Ultra will still include the same waterproofing features but will also feature a massive 6.4 inch Triluminos display that packs a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution.

Which comes with a small added bonus, the screen will also allow you to take notes or draw with a stylus, pen or even a pencil.
Also packing a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.2GHz, the Xperia Z Ultra offers a 3000mAh battery that Sony say will last up to 11 hours from a single charge. It also includes 4G connectivity, 16GB of internal storage, which can be expanded with a microSD card sized up to 64GB.
On the back you will also find a 5 megapixel camera, alongside a 2 megapixel snapper on the front.
And all of this only brings the phone to 179.4 x 92.2 x 6.5mm in measurement, and only weighing 212g.
Available in black, white and purple, the Sony Xperia Z will launch from September 2013, no word on pricing just yet however.
