Olympus has today announced that they will be bringing the PEN E-PL6 compact system camera in the UK, after it was made available in Japan.

The superslim camera, will come with an interchangeable lens camera, alongside a FlashAir SD card inside the box, allowing using to transfer pictures taken on the camera to a smartphone or to a tablet over a Wi-Fi connection.

Users can also share the images on various social sites via WiFi, including both Twitter and Facebook, which they can share to through the Olympus Image Share application.

The camera also features a tiltable 3 inch monitor which can swivel up and completely around for selfies. In the box the user will also find what Olympus claims to be the world’s slimmest pancake lens, dubbed the M.ZUIKO Digtial Ed 14-42mm.

Inside the camera you will also find a 16.1 megapixel Live MOS sensor, with a TruePic VI Image processor on board, with the ability to use up to 18 creative filters and take photos at a maximum ISO of up to 25,600.

The camera also has fast autofocus and start-up times, and the camera can shoot video at 1080p.

The Olympus PEN E-PL6 will be available in the UK in the next week or so (mid-July) in both black and white for a suggested retail price of £429.99.
