Olympus has today announced a new compact system camera that they say has been designed for fashion bloggers and selfie fans, dubbed the Olympus PEN E-PL7 it comes with a retro design that is also compatible with the brand’s interchangeable lenses.

The camera also has a 3 inch touch sensitive LCD screen that can be tilted and flipped down to various positions, and once flipped down entirely it will instantly go into selfie mode, which offers buttons for selecting self-timer sequences, e-Portrait or shutter release.

The PEN E-PL7 can also be connected to an iPhone or Android smartphone via Wi-Fi, allowing it to be controlled remotely with a dedicated application that can show what the camera sees on the phone’s screen in real time.

The app can also control the zoom of the camera and adjust the settings of the camera such as aperture and shutter speed.

There are also 14 art filters in the camera that can create vintage and more effects, inside the camera there’s also a 16.1 megapixel Live MOS sensor with Olympus’ TruePic VII image processing.

The Olympus PEN PL7 will be available from October for £499 in a pack that includes an interchangeable 12-42mm 1:3.5-5.6 EZ lens, all available in white, silver or classic black.

The OLShare app will be available for free on iOS and Android.
