Olympus has today added to their camera range with a brand new touch camera, called the Olympus Touch TG-860, the model is an update from the TG-850 that was released earlier last year.

Unveiled with the aim of tackling the GoPro, the camera has been designed to be a great action camera and is extremely tough, packing the ability to withstand being crushed by 100kg, submerged up to 15 metres in water, dropped from 2.1 metres and frozen up to -10 degrees Celsius.

Its also dustproof.

In terms of actual specifications, the camera has a 16 megapixel CMOS sensor, a TruePic VII image processing engine, a 21-105mm wide-angle lens, 5x optical zoom and a lot more.

Around the back you will also find a tillable 3 inch screen that can be tilted to the front of the camera.

Finally there’s also built-in WiFi, GPS and the ability to shoot 1080p video at 60fps.

The Olympus Tough TG-860 will be available in white, orange and black from mid-March for £270.
