Today Onkyo unveiled their latest soundbar system, the Envision Cinema LS7200 3D, which is a new soundbar system that contains a soundbar that is just 53mm high and comes with both a subwoofer and an AV centre.

The AV centre is the hub for all of these parts, it will b hardwired to the included subwoofer via a Multichannel Audio Cable and then the soundbar will be wirelessly connected to all of that. On top of that, the AV centre will also be the place where you plug your equipment into, with four 4K HDMI inputs for connecting anything from a Blu-ray player to a games console to and then a single 4K HDMI port for outputting the visuals from those inputs.

Onkyo has also added two speakers drivers on the left, right and centre channel of the soundbar, with single height speakers that can be added on to create 3D sound effects with both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. They also included their AccEQ Room Acoustic Calibration software for adjusting sound to the room that you are in.

There’s also a Surround Enhancer mode that claims to create virtual real speakers.

But Onkyo also wants this to be a system for your music.

The LS7200 supports DTS Play-Fi technology to stream music from a range of integrated services that includes Apple AirPlay, Spotify Connect, Tidal and TuneIn radio. It can also play music from a NAS drive over Wi-Fi, or it can be linked to another DTS Play-Fi speaker for a multi-room system.

It also has Bluetooth connectivity.

The Onkyo LS7200 will be available to buy from January for £899.
