Onkyo has this week revealed plans to launch a new addition to its range of digital audio players, set to release the new Onkyo DP-X1 i  April of this year, which is fitted with two digital-to analog converters or DACs and two AMPs.

It also comes with an all new design, to provide a balanced headphone output via the 2.5mm 4 pole connector, that supports the BTL drive and the ACG drive for greater power and control, with support for high resolution digital music playback, with WAV and FLAC formats.

It also supports a range of other audio formats alongside that, with 11.2MHz DSD support, 384kHz/24bit audio, and support for WAV, FLAC, ALAC and AIFF.

This combined with with 2 AMPs and two DAC chips, makes for a very powerful and feature-full audio player.

Finally the DP-X1 also has support for up to 432GB of storage, with support for MQA, and Android OS with Google Play pre-installed.

The Onkyo DP-X1 is expected to be released in April 2016, priced at $900.
