Onkyo has this week announced a set of wireless earphones that are actually wire-free, dubbed the W800BT, the new Bluetooth earphones use independently working left and right earbuds that don’t need to have a wire between them in order to work.

On top of that the right earbud even has a microphone that allows the user to take and make phone calls whilst wearing the earbuds.

To get this to work the earbuds use a rechargeable built-in battery, said to last up to 12 hours of music playback, 15 hours of talk time and 30 hours of standby time in between charges.

In terms of quality the headphones have a range of 20Hz-20kHz, with a sensitivity of 100dB and all powered by Ø8.6mm neodymium drivers in each earpiece.

These new earphones will be released in Europe from November and will be priced at €300.

Onkyo also announced a set of Bluetooth earphones that have a wire if you prefer, called the E500BT they feature a Ø40mm high power driver in each earbud and touch panel controls.

The E500BT will be available from November for €230.
