Orange have just announced that they will be launching new smartphones with the new Tizen OS 2.0 by the end of the year.

The OS is a new open source system will be available on smartphone, tablets and even car entertainment systems, it’s even compatible with other systems such as Firefox OS and has been backed by the likes of Samsung and Intel.

The system makes it easier for carriers to implement their own functionality, with their own tweaks and adjustments.

Orange will be decorating the system in their own company colours and will include a few of their own UI tweaks. The first smartphone to be shipped with be the NTT Docomo, with Orange launching their own in France sometime in September.
