The British audio company Orbitsound announced their first one-box audio system that they have aptly named the One.
Orbitsound One is a compact single system for full sound, it’s sized at 70cm x 17.2cm x 7.5cm and features not only four 2-inch drivers for mid to high frequencies but also an integrated 5.25-inch subwoofer for the bass.
All of this comes with a steel and wood combination design with a grille on the front that hides the driver and hardware array.
The system can be placed in a flat position, stood up vertically on a shelf, or even wall-mounted underneath a TV.
The latter is particularly interesting because it can also act as a soundbar via a single digital optical cable.
Orbitsound has also fitted the system out with their own airSound technology which can add some extra width and space to the sound of the speaker. It also features Bluetooth connectivity to allow you to stream music to it wirelessly, or you can just connect it via a 3.5mm AUX cable.
Orbitsound managing director Daniel Fletcher said the following about the speaker:
“Most sound systems that are wall mountable, position the drivers at an angle to increase the coverage of possibilities, but the experience is compromised as all listening happens predominantly off-axis. However the One is uniquely different with 2 ‘front speakers’ working together to create an uncompromised vertical coverage”.
“AirSound takes care of the horizontal dispersal and the result is a soundfield with no dead spots, thus creating a large spectrum for an immersive, room-filling listening experience while maintaining crisp and centred vocals”.
You will be able to pick up the Orbitsound One from February 27th in black for £299, which is a pretty decent price tag for such a speaker.
There will also be white and light wood finishes available later this year, at which point we will be happy to update you.
