Alongside the release of the 3rd beta for iOS 8, Apple today released the 3rd Developer Preview release for their upcoming OS, OS X Yoesmite.

With the update users will find a number of new features, including the long awaited release of the Dark Mode, as well as a few new updated settings and a new QuickTime icon.

Alongside those couple of new features, there’s also a new Notification Center, with further updates to Safari, Mail and Messages, and the introduction of iCloud Drive.

Aside from that everything else is pretty much the same as before, with the previous inclusion of Handoff and Continuity which allows for further integration with iOS, alongside other features like Instant Hotspot and a new Spotlight interface (one of my personal favourites.)

If you are a developer you can download the update from the Mac App Store today, or from the Apple Developer Preview.

If you’re not a developer then you will have to wait until the public beta that is due to be released this summer, or until the official release, which is expected for some time this fall.
