If you are looking to kit out your home with extended smart home tech such as a smart home lock then you might be interested in a new smartphone-controlled smart lock that was launched this week.

It is called Otto and is now available to pre-order in the US for from $699.

This smart lock is particularly interesting because it looks great and has “unrivalled security, design and performance” according to its creators.

Of course, it also comes with a number of smart home features with a smarter keyless access solution that can be controlled via your smartphone of via a four digit code if you prefer that.

On top of that, it also features automatic unlocking, allowing you to automatically unlock the door as you approach Otto. The creators explained more with the following:

To keep your family safe, we eliminated the weak links: keys and keypads. We set out to design the most secure lock for your home. Seven different grades of stainless steel add strength and durability. Our unique PVD process adds luster and protection from the elements.

End-to-end advanced ECC security, device-level asymmetric cryptography, and PKI encryption deliver multiple layers of protection. Otto has endured 50,000 hard door slams, over 250,000 lock/unlock cycles, and extreme climate conditions to be ready for everyday life and then some.

The Otto Lock is now available for pre-orders with shipping starting this fall. We will ship your order as soon as it’s available. You will not be charged until your order is ready to ship and may cancel at any time prior to shipping.
