During Photokina 2014 Panasonic announced a number of cameras and accessories, but of the most interesting was the announcement of the Lumix CM1, which is not in fact a camera but a smartphone.

In terms of its smartphone specs the CM1 is pretty average for an Android device, featuring a 4.7 inch 1080p display, 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and microSD card support.

However where it gets interesting is in the camera specs, featuring a 1-inch 20 megapixel sensor with f/2.8 Leica glass.

Alongside that there’s also a dedicated button that will allow users to quickly take a snap from the rear facing camera.

Aside from that the camera can also shoot up to 4K video.

As of yet we have not heard much in terms of a price or release date, however Panasonic has confirmed that it won’t be coming to the UK unfortunately.
