PayPal as today announced that a their new service, PayPal Check-in will be launching in the UK this summers, allowing users to pay for products like at participating stores without removing their phone, or even wallet from their pocket.

The service was announced last year after PayPal partnered with ERPLT, a cloud point of sale company, already available within the PayPal application on iPhone and Android, it basically allows you to check-in upon entering a store, and then that store will register you as a PayPal customer, with a photo and account info appearing on their database, they can tell it’s you at the checkout.

Of course these stores need to have partnered with PayPal first, so its unlikely you will find anywhere that uses the technology just yet, however PayPal will be announcing who has signed up in June.
