Pentax has today announced their new Q7 CSC compact camera, with an interchangeable lens, the Q7 packs a 1/1.7 inch 12.4 million pixel sensor, but only includes a 4.6x magnification.

Which may seem a little rubbish when compared to its predecessor that includes a 5.5x zoom.

However the Q7 won’t be taking over from that camera, and Pentax will still be stocking the Q10 in its line-up.

As the Q7 includes the new Q-imaging engine, the Q7 is considered as a high-end variation, with a programmable quick dial, and compatibility with the Eye-Fi.

Alongside which Pentax also announced a new mount-shield lens, that includes a f/9.0 aperture with a 53mm focal length with the Q7.

There’s no news on it pricing, but we do know it will launch with no less than 120 different colour combinations in September.
