Today Apple announced that app developers have earned over $70 billion through their App Store since it was originally launched in 2008, news which comes ahead of their WWDC 17 conference, strangely.

Apple didn’t reveal the exact numbers for the amount that users have spent to deliver developers with these numbers, however, Apple’s typical revenue split in 70/30 between app developers.

That means that users have spent around $100 billion in the App Store. Wow.

Apple did reveal that app downloads have increased by over 70 percent since last year, with photo and video apps nearing a 90 percent growth rate, which is pretty darn impressive.

But that’s not all.

They also revealed that active app subscriptions were up 58 percent year over year.

And now that is all, we expect to hear more numbers and more from WWDC 17 on Monday.
