Phase One has today announced a new camera to add to their high-end digital camera line-up.
Called the IQ3 100MP Achromatic, it is Phase One’s latest camera that can only shoot in black and white but still costs a massive $50,000 and without any lenses, which may sound pretty bad for the money, however, there is more to this camera than just a price tag.
The IQ3 100MP Achromatic has been designed to be a great black and white camera, without a Bayer colour filter that you will often find in most of the digital cameras, according to Phase One, this allows the camera to “focus purely on capturing absolute detail, luminance values and subtle tonal beauty.”
To put it in other terms, the camera has less stuff in the way of capturing images, meaning that it can capture shots with much greater detail.
And this comes on top of some pretty impressive specifications.
Those specifications include a massive 101-megapixel CMOS image sensor, along with the capability of shooting at up to 51,200 ISO.
The new camera also comes with built-in WiFi, along with the same 3.2-inch touchscreen that you will find in Phase One’s other IQ3 cameras.
All of that results in the ability to capture fantastic images like this:
