Philips has today announced the launch of the new Fidelio Soundbar HTL9100, bringing a sense of style back to the home cinema, with a sleek, yet detachable design that allows you to turn the system from virtual to 5.1 surround sound.

First announced at CES 2013, the soundbar is now available for purchase at £699, and is a “chic and subtle device that makes a loud statement as the beautifully crafted, perfect addition to any living room,” according to Philips.

One of the biggest features with the HTL9100 is that its completely wireless, based on proprietary wireless technology, the audio signal will not interfere with any other wireless devices.

Alongside which the subwoofer also features DoubleBASS technology from Philips, and the speakers back 2-cell lithium polymer rechargeable batteries inside, allowing them to last up to 10 hours when detached.

The soundbar will also allow for audio input from both Bluetooth sources and HDMI.
