There was one announcement that we missed out on during IFA 2016 this week, and that was the announcement of a new 4K OLED TV from Philips.

The specific feature that makes this 55-inch TV exciting is that it features Philips’ Ambilight technology.

This has been built right into the TV, allowing the ambient lighting to change colour and correspond with the colours that are being displayed on the OLED panel.

With this, you will get a back-lighting effect on three sides of the TV, which should make the colours on the TV look more vibrant.

On top of that, the TV also uses Philips’ Perfect Pixel Ultra HD engine, allowing the OLED pixels to completely switch off and provide deeper, more accurate black levels according to the company.

It also has a 30W 6.1 sound bar in-built.

We don’t yet know when the Philips OLED 901F series will be released, where it will be available, or for how much, but we will let you know as soon as we do.

In the meantime, you can check it out in the video below.
