Ass you may know, recently there have been rumors that the upcoming PlayStation 4 will not be backwards compatible, and will only play games created just for that console. Linking with this, The Wall Street Journal has today reported that the console will still be able to play the older games, but will now stream them via an internet connection.

This will of course also link to the Gaikai acquisition from Sony last year for $380 million. alongside which the console is also rumored to play new titles from optical discs much like previous PlayStation Portable consoles with UMDs.

Of course, as always this is just rumors and we will have to wait for the official stuff till February 20th.
