The Plex media streaming application has this week gone free on both the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3.

This was announced earlier this week, and means that users can download the Plex app for free, and then use it to stream media over their home network.

To do so the user needs to installed Plex on their PC or NAS, from where they can set what media they want to be streamed, all which can then be accessed on a range of devices, including smartphones, smart TVs, Roku, Apple TV, tablets, PCs and gaming consoles.

And not only is the application available for free, the app has also removed the Plex Pass requirement.

On top of this they also updated the app on both consoles, making the application faster on the PlayStation, with new support within the app to make access to content easier.

You can find out more about the app and how to download it at the source link below.
