Today Plex added another feature for their Plex Pass subscribers called Plex Live TV.

This new feature has been designed to allow those who subscribe to it to view and record free-to-air live TV through the Plex app itself. It does need a digital tuner and an antenna to work, however, once that’s ready you are ready to record TV from any device that has the Plex app.

There is a range of tuners that support it, including ones for Windows PCs, and even the digital TV tuner for the Xbox One.

And it will work with Freeview HD in the UK.

Programming from Plex Live TV will appear with its own electronic programme guide, from which you can record shows and watch them. On top of that, once you have recorded a show, Plex will automatically add metadata and other information to the show.

A Plex Pass is needed to make use of the service. It costs £3.99 a month, £31.99 a year or a one-off lifetime payment of £94.99 (usually £119.99).
