In a move not many expected from Nintendo, the Pokedex is now available in the form of an app on the iPhone, iPad, iPad Mini and iPod Touch. The app is available for £1.49 in the UK or $2 in the US and allows users to access an illustrated encyclopedia of more than 640 Pokémon characters.

Within the app users can access information such as how to evolve a Pokémon, where a specific Pokémon can be found, what types of attacks it is weak against etc. You can simply browse this by either entering a Pokemon’s name of by its Pokédex number, move, Ability, or type.

The app will only be available to fans who reside in North America or Europe.
