Today Nintendo announced that the most recent update to the Pokemon game series, Pokemon Sun and Moon has set the launch sales record for the company, becoming their biggest-selling game of all time at launch in the UK market.
Previously to that, Nintendo’s last best-selling launch title was actually Wii Fit, despite its poor reception.
This clearly shows that Nintendo is far from outside of the world’s view and that Pokemon games can definitely still be successful, especially when you consider that Pokemon Sun & Moon was actually the best-selling game in the UK for this week.
This is as according to the most recent report from Chart-Track, who reported that the combined sales of the two would have put them at the top of the UK physical game sales charts for the week ending November 26th.
In the digital sales report from Chart-Track, they also revealed that FIFA 17 had taken the top spot off Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, here’s the full chart list for the week:
- FIFA 17
- Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
- Pokemon Sun
- Pokemon Moon
- Battlefield 1
- Watch Dogs 2
- Forza Horizon 3
- Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
- Grand Theft Auto V
- Gears of War 4
