Microsoft’s Major Nelson has today announced that after launching the Project Spark beta for the Xbox One back in March, they will be launching the full game officially on the Xbox One and the PC from October of this year.

According to Major Nelson the game will be available to purchase for around $40, available as either a digital download or via a retail disc, depending on the version which the user prefers.

The game will also be launched with a starter pack that will allow players to build their own games, include their own sounds, effects, animations, props, advanced creator features, offline content and experience boosts, that will allow players to unlock new content for the game faster.

Here’s what Major Nelson wrote about the game:

“Experience the ultimate interactive playground, delivered as a free digital download with many options for enhancing your creative experience. It’s a place where you can walk in the world’s collective imagination and start playing.”

“See how a creator did what they did, and, when you’re ready, become a creator yourself. Share all of your creations with a dynamic community, and play what the community makes. Project Spark brings creation to life and presents endless opportunities for play.”

Xbox One and PC owners can already download the beta for the Project Spark software now.
