After the recent controversy with the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, a lot of people have rightly been more cautious about charging their smartphones, Samsung or not.

In an effort to help that market, a guy named Sian-Ee Goh launched his new project on Kickstarter this week. Called the Prufen Cable, it has been designed to automatically detect overheating, power overload, and current surges and automatically stop charging should it detect such an occurrence, hopefully keeping your device safe in the process.

It is also capable of measuring the mAh of the power input that you are using, such as a power bank.
