Shortly after Microsoft’s Larry Hyrb announced that the Xbox One will get support for 3D Blu-Rays in the August update, Sony announced that the PS4 will receive an update next week that will do the same.

It makes sense for Sony to beat Microsoft to the punch on this one, given that the company makes Blu-Ray’s, and there previous support for the format with the PlayStation 3, which was the first console to use the discs for its games.

Aside from the blu-ray support, we don’t know if there will be any more features added.

We do however know that earlier this week Sky also released an a app for the PlayStation 4 that allows users to grab content from Now TV, which once added with the support for 3D Blu-Ray’s should make the console a pretty decent entertainment hub/ games console.
