Some time ago we revealed that Sony’s PlayStation 4 console would be getting a new update soon, bringing with it support for external hard drives and the new ‘boost mode’ feature for the PS4 Pro specifically.

Today Sony revealed that this new update, version 4.50 will be released tomorrow, bringing both of those previously mentioned features, finally.

To explain the new ‘Boost Mode’ feature, Sony said that it “has been designed to provide better performance for select legacy titles that have not been patched to take advantage of the PS4 Pro’s faster CPU and its faster and double-sized GPU,” however, it’s performance has not been tested  to prove that just yet.

Alongside that and the external hard drive support will come a range of other features, with better 2D images for PlayStationVR, the ability to use voice chat when playing a game in remote play mode on a PC or Xperia phone, support for custom wallpapers, changes to Messages and Communites, and the addition of a new status update that will let you know when a friend is logged in on a mobile device and not their home console.

All of this will launch to all PS4 users from tomorrow.
