Roku have today announced their latest and third edition of the set-top box streamer, conveniently named the Roku 3, it features a brand new user interface as well as spec upgrades that claim to make the device five times faster than previous generations.

This includes a new and more powerful processor, dual-band Wi-Fi, 1080p support and a brand new remote, which features an audio out port, allowing the viewer to listen to audio privately with the included headphones over a wireless connection.

The UI also got an upgrade, with a new streamlined list of channels covering the right hand side of the menu, alongside the My Channels, Channel Store, Search and Settings menus, which will be available to access from the right.

This software will also be available for the Roku 2, Roku HD, Roku LT and the Roku Streaming Stick sometime in April, which is also when the Roku 3 will launch for $99 in the US.

There’s no word on pricing or availability just yet.
