The tablet is quickly becoming a platform whereby users can play games as they want to, on-the-go. The new Razer Edge Gaming Tablet does all that by providing both a mobile gaming and desktop gaming experience in one device.
The tablet itself can be connected to various accessories, in order to allow use it in various gaming scenarios such as on the train or even at home, with the three separate attachments, the Razer Edge can be connected to you TV and used as a serious gaming machine, or you can even be plugged into a mouse, connected to a keyboard cover and used as a gaming laptop, and then you can plug it in the controller or into nothing at all and use it as an everyday tablet.
This technology was of course recognised by CNET with the Best of Show award to which Razer co-founder, CEO and creative director.Min-Liang Tan said the following: “Razer didn´t win these awards alone – the PC gamers of the world have won it together with us. We´ve emphatically said to the world at large: PC gaming is alive and kicking!” So as you can see the team are extremely passionate about what they once called Project Fiona (if you haven’t already noticed from the videos above and below).
Specs for the tablet include, an Intel i7 Dual Core processor at 1.9GHz or it can be boosted to 3.0GHz, there’s also 8GB of DDR3 RAM, an Intel H4000 graphics and another NVIDIA GT 640M LE card with 2GB DDR3 RAM, the display is sized at 10.1 inches and has a resolution of 1366×768, it runs Windows 8 and either comes with a 128GB or 256GB SSD.
The Razer Edge gaming tablet will be available in Q1 in the US, starting at $999, were not sure of a UK release just yet however. I must admit I would probably pick one of these up if I had the money at the time, the amount of time I’ve wanted to pull out my iPad and play a bit of Dishonored on those longer train journey’s.
Yes you could simply take a laptop, but where’s the fun in that? You can find out more about the tablet right here, also we have some awesome product shots of the Edge for you to take a look at below.
