Apple have always been found supporters of the Red charity, and this year is no different, supplying a specially designed Red version of the new Mac Pro for their charity auction, which took place yesterday at Sotheby’s New York, raising a total of $12,883,000 towards The Global Fund, who aim to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

And Jony Ive’s Red Mac Pro played a massive part in that total, selling for a massive $977,000 it is already the most expensive Mac Pro in existence. But that wasn’t enough for Apple and the charity, they also sold of a pair of gold Apple EarPods for $461,000, both of which destroyed their original estimations.
