Sony has today announced release dates for the PlayStation TV in the US and Europe, announcing that the set-top box will be available in the US and Canada from next month, and then in Europe just one month after that.

This comes after the PlayStation TV was released in Japan and a number of other countries at first, and allows users to access a number of movies and TV shows from the PlayStation Store.

Users can also access a range of games on the console with about 700 games expected to launch for the set-top box including Metel Gear Solid and Killzone: Mercenary.

Sony has uet to announce its online TV service launch however, which is expected to offer 32 Viacom channels including Comedy Central and MTV.

The console will console will cost £99.99 when it launches in the US on October 14th, there will also be a version that includes a wireless controller, an 8GB memory card and The Lego Movie video game for $139.99.

Sony also told said that the PS TV will launch in Europe on November 14th but didn’t reveal pricing.
