This week Ricoh unveiled a new rugged compact camera that has been designed to film in the toughest of conditions.

Called the WG-50, Ricoh say that it has been designed for everything from outdoor activities to underwater photography, which is thanks to it’s lightweight waterproof, shockproof, and freezeproof design.

It is waterproof to a depth of 14 metres, shockproof against a fall as high as 1.6 metres, and freezeproof to a temperature as low as minus 10 degrees celsius.

It can also shoot still images and video via the 16 megapixel Full HD sensor that shoots at a 1,920 x 1,080-pixel resolution.

There’s also an LCD screen around the back, with the option to add on camera-mounting accessories.

The Ricoh WG-50 will be available at the end of June in orange and black for £249.99.
