We love to feature Kickstarter and other crowdfunding projects on TechNutty, and this next one is a prime example of why we do. Called the Ridge stand it is basically a stand that will allow users to set-up their notebook or their tablet on a desk without hassle.

The brain child of the company, NewBee Design, the Ridge stand comes with one feature that sets it out from among the rest, and that is the ability to fold down the stand into a more portable position when not in use.

When it is in use, the stand can be changed according to the position that the user requires, providing a more natural viewing angle when placed on a desk.

“Work environments today are often hostile to the very thing they were designed for- productive thinking. Too many people are stuck in offices for 8 to 12 hours a day, static and sedentary, sitting in a cubicle or hunched over a desk staring hour after hour at a laptop screen or desktop monitor. This kind of work environment is counter productive and unhealthy. We felt it was time to make a change.”

“The Ridge Stand was designed to help cut the clutter out of the workday and give back the clean lines and open spaces that promote productive thought. We believe that people will get more done when they have a clean, organized workspace. Less clutter means less distraction which equates to greater focus and productivity.”

In order to launch Ridge is looking for a total of $25,000 in backing on Kickstarter, which they are extremely close to (at the time of writing they have raised over $22,000). If you do help the compaign make sure to pledge $65 or more to grab your own stand.
