Back at Gamescom Square Enix announced that Rise of the Tomb Raider will be exclusive to the Xbox, however that deal doesn’t seem to have lasted very long.

Square Enix today confirmed this, revealing that Rise of the Tomb Raider will not be completely exclusive to the Xbox platform, hitting the PlayStation 4 and the PC in 2016, launching on Windows 10 on Steam in early 2016, and on PS4 in late 2016.

Rise of the Tomb Raider will also be released on the Xbox One and the Xbox 360 on November 10th, 2015.

Square Enix explains more:

“The game will be a console exclusive to Xbox One and Xbox 360 for one year after its initial launch, coming to PlayStation 4 (PS4) in Holiday 2016, renowned developer Crystal Dynamics, a Square Enix studio, is leading development in the latest entry in the iconic series for additional platforms.”

This has caused some uproar in the gaming communities, with many Xbox and Square Enix fans wondering what exclusivity means exactly.
