If you are as old as I am then you probably remember, and miss the show Robot Wars, a competitive TV that was all about battling robots.

If you are nostaglic then you will be hapy to know that the BBC has this week confirmed that they have commissioned one fo the show’s original production companies to bring the show back in the form of 6 60 minute episodes.

“Robot Wars is an absolute TV classic and I’m thrilled to be updating it for the next generation of viewers,” said Kim Shillinglaw, controller of BBC Two.

“With new technological advances making for an even more exciting and immersive experience, this is a fantastic example of the kind of content-rich factual entertainment that BBC Two excels at.”

The show will also be coming back with a new structure, more science facts and more behind-the-scenes footage than what it previously had, and it will all take place in the purpose-built zone in Glasgow.

It will also be filmed in high definition, and the BBC has said that they will be using new TV technology to get viewers closer to the action.

Amateur roboteers will be able to construct their own robots for the show, and battle them for glory.

This will be the first time that the show has aired since 2004. However we don’t yet know when it will come pack exactly, but we will let you know when we do.
