Quite some time ago we got our first look at a new autonomous robot that was designed to make deliveries easier.

Today Starship Technologies unveiled their next plans for this, revealing the launch of a new testing programme that will kick off this month.

As part of this programme, Starship Technologies will be letting their robot loss on the streets of London and in other European cities to use them as an everyday delivery service, beginning with the delivery of takeaways.

At first, they will be partnering with Just Eat and Pronto to test the robots for deliveries, with the testing phase lasting nine months, in 12 separate countries.

The bots will also be used for deliveries from within a three-mile radius.

This will be the first time that Startship Technologies has conducted a test in this manner, however, they do say that the robot has already travelled close to 5,000 miles. During that time it has meet over 400,000 people without incident according to the company.
