Rockstar has today confirmed that they are currently developing Grand Theft Auto 6.

The news was confirmed by Rockstar earlier today, revealing that it will be developed specifically for next-generation consoles rather than the last generation like the previous game in the series.

This news also comes before GTA V has been released on the PC, which has been delayed until March of this year.

Getting back to GTA VI however, the confirmation came from an interview with Rockstar Games’ President, Leslie Benzies, who confirmed the news to Develop:

“We’ve got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do. We don’t know what GTA 6 will be, but we’ve got some ideas” – “It comes from the idea first. Where is it going to be set is the first question. Then that defines the missions; you’re doing different things in LA than in New York or Miami. The map and story get worked up together, and the story is a basic flow of how it works out so you can layer the missions in”.

As of yet we have no specific information on GTA 6, and as it is still in its early stages of development we don’t expect it for some time yet.

We will let you know when more does turn up however.
