A number of rumours have surfaced today revealing that Apple may launch a 12.9 inch iPad with OS X, building upon the rumours that we have heard for the much larger iPad for some time now.

According to the recent report that was posted by the guys at DigiTimes the 12.9 inch iPad will run both iOS and OS X at release.

The site also claims that the larger iPad has been scheduled for release in 2015, and will become the first device to integrate both Mac OS and iOS, which reports coming from the upstream supply chain.

This supply chain claims that their is two 12.9 inch tablet prototypes in development at the moment, one is a 2-in-1 device that mixes a laptop with a tablet, and the other is a regular tablet according to the rumours.

As of yet however nothing has been confirmed yet, and we don’t know if Apple will release both types at launch, or just one of them.

We suspect that the official stuff may come at Apple’s WWDC event some time next year.
