A few months ago GAME was purchased for a £1, which seems to be a common trait for company purchases as Sainsbury’s have just bought 64% of the previously HMV run e-book company, Anobii for only a £1.

You would think that this small cost would mean that there are some debts involved, but Anobii are actully doing pretty well with around 60,000 customers internationally with deals set up with the major publishers, HarperCollins, Penguin, and Random House UK, the reasons for the small price was in fact due to HMV wanted to sell of some assets quickly due to them slowly going bust.

This will certainly put a stick in Tesco’s works and could mean Sainsbury’s overtaking them in a various fields.
