Samsung have today announced their latest Windows 8 tablet, the Samsung ATIV Tab 3 which they claim to be the thinnest Windows 8 tablet available on the market today, however the weird part is, there is an ATIV Tab 1 but the ATIV Tab 2 does not exist.

Featuring a similar design to that of the Samsung Galaxy series, at just 8.2mm thick, weighing 550 grams, with a 10.6 inch display with a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, making the ATIV Tab 3 better than the Surface Pro in more or less every respect.

Inside the device there’s an Intel ATOM Z2760 processor, 2GB of RAM and a 64GB flash drive, with a 720p HD camera and a 10 hours of battery life from a single charge.

There’s no word on pricing or availability yet, but it will be available in the UK later this year.
