Samsung has today announced the new Gear S wearable at IFA 2014, featuring a curved AMOLED display with 3G connectivity that means the user doesn’t need an extra device to work. It does have it’s own SIM card, but Samsung does require you to connect to a Samsung compatible smartphone before you use it, or before you can update apps.

The display has a 2 inch curved Super AMOLED display that Samsung says will fit your wrist perfectly, and the watch will feature a number of new clock faces that the user can select from, these will also show the user select information.

If the user swipes right on the homescreen they can view notifications, if they swipe up they can view their apps, and if they swipe left they can view their widgets.

The watch also has GPS, and Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity, which means the user can get a number of notifications, and even send and receive messages and calls.

The watch also has S Voice, S Health and a new Gear for Gear option, that is a pedestrian GPS system.
