Samsung has this week announced yet another variant of the Samsung Galaxy S5, dubbed the Galaxy S5 Sport, which will be available exclusively from the US carrier, Sprint and will be available to buy from July 25th in both Electric Blue and Cherry Red.
Sprint will also be giving those who purchase the S5 Sport from July 25th a $50 discount on the Samsung Gear Fit.
“We continually innovate to provide our customers with new products that can improve their lives,” said Dan Hesse, Sprint Chief Executive Officer, today during an event in Chicago. “Previously, Sprint brought together Harman Kardon, HTC and Spotify to redefine how music should sound on the modern smartphone. Today, Sprint joins leading innovators in Samsung, Under Armour and MapMyFitness to drive technology advances for fitness, health and wellness.”
In terms of specifications, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport will feature a slightly different design to the S5, but with similar specs, featuring a 5.1 inch 1080p display, a quad-core Snapdragon 801 SoC, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.
THere’s also support for microSD card slots, with a 16MP camera on the back, a 2MP camera on the front, a 2,800 mAh battery and Android 4.4.2 KitKat pre-installed.
The devise also has IP67 certification, making it water and dust-resistant, but not as rugged as the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active.
