Samsung didn’t do well with the release of the Note 7 last year, given that the device ending up exploding shortly after it was released, they were forced to recall the smartphone and go back to the drawing board.

Despite this, we don’t expect Samsung to give up on the Note brand, and in fact, the company has already confirmed that they will be launching a new smartphone before the end of the year.

Given that they have already released the S8 and S8 Plus, it’s likely that this new flagship will be the Note 8, or rather the 8th version of the Note smartphone.

They confirmed this news during their financial report for Q1 of 2017, releasing the following statement:

“For the mobile business, market competition is expected to intensify in the second half. Against this backdrop, the company will strive to maintain profitability through robust sales of the Galaxy S8 and S8+ and the launch of a new flagship smartphone in the second half.”

We don’t know much about the Galaxy Note 8 just yet, however, we presume that it might take many of the features from the recently released S8 along with some Note-focused specifications.

It is expected that the smartphone will be revealed somewhere between August and September, possibly at IFA, so we will update you if that happens.
